Tools of the trade: Paint depth gauge

Prior to machine polishing, it is extremely important to know the thickness of the paint. New vehicles have considerably less paint on them and we need to ensure we can safely remove imperfections, so we take measurements all over the vehicle before machine polishing. Used vehicles that have been improperly detailed usually have numerous paint thicknesses on different panels and our paint depth gauge aids in how we approach removing imperfections.
